Heartsong Book Review

HeartsongHeartsong by Kevin Crossley-Holland

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Filled with beautiful illustrations, beautiful words and a musical silence this book captures the light of Venice, the low lit lanterns on a summer’s eve. The feeling of loss, the feeling of finding something completely your own. This book ended on a bitter sweet note, it was touching and fulfilled and really, really enjoyable.

Third book finished for my Bibliothon and it finishes the challenge of ‘Read a book by an author you’ve never read before’ and Kevin Crossley-Holland/Jane Rey are just that.

A super quick read of half an hour – this book should be on everyone’s shelves who love to read – it’s a beautiful, beautiful book. In words, pictures, and soul.
